Black Sea

The Black Sea, with an area of 436,400 km² is an inland sea between southeastern Europe and Anatolia that is actually a distant arm of the Atlantic Ocean by way of the Mediterranean Sea. There is an inflow of freshwater from the surrounding areas, especially central and middle-eastern Europe, with the most important river entering the Black Sea being the Danube. The Black Sea may only be bordered by six countries (Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria, and Romania) yet it is impacted by at least ten more nations through the five major rivers that flow through its watershed and empty into its waters.
