Rules of the SESAME Competition 2008-2009

 

Get acquainted with life in the sea onboard a research vessel! Step into scientists’ shoes and embark on an oceanographic cruise, ready to sample and analyse your data in the laboratory!
Together with your classmates, imagine and create a travel diary or a newspaper (depending on the level) about an oceanographic cruise using the previous cruise diaries and the other resources available on the SESAME website!

Take part in the SESAME Competition 2008 - 2009 and win a computer for your class!

With your class, subscribe to the educational program and participate in the SESAME school competition!

The contest is divided into two age classes:

Children aged 6 to 11 years old should think up and create a travel diary (5 sheets) about an oceanographic expedition carried by the SESAME Project.

Teenagers 12 to 16 years old are asked to make up and write a newspaper (2 sheets) published onboard a research vessel during a SESAME oceanographic expedition. The journal will recount the life at sea through several articles whose subjects will be chosen by the educational team beforehand.

Archive of the Competition 2007-2008

During the academic year 2007-2008, the educational team organised an european school competition about the scientific topics of the SESAME Project :

  • Sardines and anchovies in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea
  • The Southern European seas and the impact of Toursim
  • The oceanographic cruises in the Southern European Seas.
